How does it work?
When making a purchase in our store, the customer can redeem the value of a gift card by entering its unique code at checkout. This code isn't case sensitive. A gift card holds a balance, which can be spent over more than one order. Gift card balances are applied to the total value of an order, which can include taxes and shipping.
When a customer redeems a gift card, the checkout displays one of the following options:
If the balance available on the gift card is greater than or equal to the order total, then the customer can click Complete order.
If the balance available on the gift card is less than the order total, then the customer is prompted to choose a second payment method for the balance before placing the order.
Can discount codes be used with e-gifts?
Unfortunately not, as the e-gift code needs to be put in the same space as discount codes meaning you can't use both at the same time.
Can an e-gift be used multiple times?
Yes, an e-gift can be used several times, for example: if a customer has a £100 e-gift card, and uses only £20, the remaining balance (£80) will remain on the same discount number.
How do I redeem my e-gift ?
Simply add your e-gift code to the discount code field at the checkout page
Does it cover postage?
Your e-gift will be used for the total amount in the basket. The balance can be paid using a debit or credit card.
Can I pay postage separately?
Unfortunately not, as the e-gift recognises the amount in the final basket and cannot separate items. If the amount spent is more than the e-gift balance, you will be able to pay the balance via the usual payment options.
Why can't I use it to buy digital products?
Our digital products are sold on Etsy (due to international VAT laws on digital products).
Can I spend it on a workshop or a 1:1 sewing lesson?
You certainly can. All workshop T&C's apply. See here for workshops.
What happens after I buy an e-gift card?
You will receive a an email with the discount code. When you click on VIEW GIFT CARD the card can then be printed out. Please forward the code to the person that will be using the e-gift card. If you would prefer to give the recipient a printed card, we'd be happy to print and send it to them.

The person I sent the e-gift to hasn't received it?
Please ask them to check their spam folders and if it still hasn't arrived please contact us - email@example.com
Will I receive a printed e-gift in the post?
e-Gift cards are digital - you won't receive anything in the post.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The e-gift is redeemable for printed sewing patterns, fabric, notions, workshops and kits.
e-Gifts cannot be redeemed for cash.
e-Gifts cannot be refunded or cancelled.
To comply with accountancy regulations balances not redeemed for more than 24 months will expire and the value will be forfeited.
When using an e-gift and once a product is bought using an e-gift our full T&C’s apply.
The Avid Seamstress reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of the e-gift at any time and to take appropriate action including cancellation of the e-gift if it deems such action necessary.
