Workshop Options

We're inviting you to join us for our 2026 non-residential workshops hosted in the gorgeous Dorset countryside.

This venue is a maker's dream - a purpose built workshop set on a working farm. Rolling countryside surrounds you, and you’ll feel the "to-do" list melt away when you are in this creative space.

Every attendee has their own table, with separate overlocker stations set up. Enjoy the dedicated outdoor space and gorgeous kitchen. These are non-residential workshops, offering the flexibility to join during the day and head home each evening - ideal for those who love this outstanding space without needing overnight accommodation. For those that wish to stay, we can recommend local hotels in historic Wimborne, or you can contact Launceston Farm about their beautiful on-site cottages (sleeps 2).

With a payment plan included, you can spread the cost of the workshop.

This workshop is hosted by Lisa, our Founder and Amanda, well known as the overlocker queen from Cotton Onto Sewing! We’ll share our expert tips and support you making your Avid Seamstress garment (see below for exciting pattern news).

What's included:

  • An Avid Seamstress sewing pattern of your choice - posted in advance, so there's time to prepare.
  • Expert tuition and guidance throughout from 2 teachers.
  • Biscuits, cake, tea & coffee

PAYMENT PLAN OPTION available - email hello@theavidseamstress.co.uk.

Workshop timings:

🕙 10am – 530pm each day

Should you be travelling far and need suggestions for local hotels, please contact us for suggestions.

    What Clients Are Saying

“Loved this kit, gorgeous fabric, interesting pattern and clear instructions”

    Ruth

"The Blouse was a great project, with very detailed instructions, helpful photos, and useful sewing techniques. I have certainly learnt from this make, and the blouse turned out perfectly. I was so thrilled with the pattern that I made another, straight after completing the first! The option for 2 patterns in the pack was great, as my daughter has requested a blouse, and I really dislike tracing patterns! I added to the seam allowances so I could sew French Seams at the shoulders and sides, and reduced the seam allowance on the collar so that it was more of a feature, just my preference for the sew.
