Meet your new wardrobe favourite ~ The Tie Blouse. Elegant, feminine and effortlessly wearable, this versatile sewing pattern creates a beautifully relaxed silhouette that feels just as at home with jeans as it does dressed up for an evening out.

The Tie Blouse features a flattering V-neckline with a buttoned front placket, delicate ribbon ties and statement wide sleeves. The back is finished with a soft ribbon tie at the neckline, adding an elegant detail.

Its relaxed fit drapes beautifully over the body, creating an effortless look that feels floaty without being oversized. Whether sewn in linen for everyday wear or a soft, drapey viscose for a more elegant feel, The Tie Blouse is a timeless piece you'll reach for season after season.

This digital sewing pattern is delivered instantly after purchase, so you can start sewing straight away. Prefer not to print at home? Simply choose the option that includes a professionally printed A0 pattern sheet, delivered directly to your door.

Suggested Fabrics

The Tie Blouse is designed for lightweight woven fabrics.

For a soft, elegant drape, choose fabrics such as:

  • Viscose
  • Bamboo
  • TENCEL™ Lyocell

For a more structured everyday blouse, it also works beautifully in:

  • Linen
  • Cotton Lawn
  • Cotton Poplin
  • Double Gauze
  • Lightweight Chambray
  • Soft Seersucker

Avoid heavy or stiff fabrics, as they will reduce the soft drape of the sleeves and ties.

Supplies Needed

  • Fabric
  • Matching thread
  • Lightweight fusible interfacing (approximately 0.50m)
  • 1m Ribbon 3mm - 5mm wide
  • 4x 10 - 12mm Buttons with a shank. It's also possible to use buttons without a shank - we suggest that you use a narrow ribbon if choosing shankless buttons.
The model is 172cm / 5' 7" tall and is wearing the size 10 in the wide pink stripe and the size 8 in the other images.

      What Clients Are Saying

Avid Seamstress Sewing Pattern Weekend - The Avid Seamstress

“Loved this kit, gorgeous fabric, interesting pattern and clear instructions”

      Ruth

"The Blouse was a great project, with very detailed instructions, helpful photos, and useful sewing techniques. I have certainly learnt from this make, and the blouse turned out perfectly. I was so thrilled with the pattern that I made another, straight after completing the first! The option for 2 patterns in the pack was great, as my daughter has requested a blouse, and I really dislike tracing patterns! I added to the seam allowances so I could sew French Seams at the shoulders and sides, and reduced the seam allowance on the collar so that it was more of a feature, just my preference for the sew.
