Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside, The Avid Seamstress Studio is a calm and creative space designed for makers of all abilities.

Whether you're joining us for a one-to-one lesson, a Makers' Social, a weekend workshop or our Summer Fashion School, we want you to feel relaxed from the moment you arrive.

Located at Crabtree Studios in the picturesque village of Chettle, you'll find yourself surrounded by the beautiful Dorset countryside. It's the perfect place to step away from the everyday, slow down and enjoy the creative process.

A Beautiful Space to Create

Our light and spacious studio has been thoughtfully designed to make learning enjoyable and inspiring.

With small class sizes, plenty of table space and a welcoming atmosphere, you'll have everything you need to enjoy your day.

Our studio is equipped with seven Janome 230DC sewing machines and two Janome MyLock 454D overlockers, plus 2 Brother overlockers, allowing everyone to learn on high-quality, reliable equipment.

You're very welcome to use one of our machines during your workshop, so there's no need to bring your own. If you'd prefer to sew on a machine you're already familiar with, you're equally welcome to bring it along.

Our studio is located at Crabtree Studios, part of the wonderful Chettle community in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Just a short stroll away, you'll find the lovely Chettle Village Store, where you can browse a fantastic selection of local produce, gifts and homewares.

Whether you arrive early for a coffee or treat yourself after your workshop, it's well worth a visit.
