A thoughtfully curated project inspired by the skirt that sold out at Stitch Festival.

This striking version of The Universal Skirt features a distinctive horizontal lower panel, created by turning the fabric to showcase the stripe in a different direction. To recreate this feature, we've included an extra meter of fabric so the design can be sewn exactly as seen on our show sample.

About the Fabric

A beautifully crafted Japanese cotton from Sevenberry, woven on a natural, undyed base. It has the look and feel of linen with a softer handle, making it lightweight, breathable and a pleasure to sew.

Available in Blue Stripe, Green Stripe and Pink Stripe.

About the Pattern

The Universal Skirt is a high-waisted mid-length skirt with deep pleats, a flattering silhouette and concealed zip fastening. This kit includes the Panel Skirt unlined version. This pattern also has a puffball and fully lined pattern included.

The Universal Skirt comes with a full-colour pattern sheet. The instruction book is beautifully designed, featuring clear illustrations and step-by-step guidance. Paired with our video tutorials, you'll be fully supported as you learn how to create crisp box pleats and confidently insert a concealed zip.

Inside the Project Box

  • 3.5m Sevenberry Stripe Cotton
  • 1m Interfacing
  • Matching Thread
  • Concealed Zip

What Clients Are Saying

Avid Seamstress Sewing Pattern Weekend - The Avid Seamstress

“Loved this kit, gorgeous fabric, interesting pattern and clear instructions”

Ruth

"The Blouse was a great project, with very detailed instructions, helpful photos, and useful sewing techniques. I have certainly learnt from this make, and the blouse turned out perfectly. I was so thrilled with the pattern that I made another, straight after completing the first! The option for 2 patterns in the pack was great, as my daughter has requested a blouse, and I really dislike tracing patterns! I added to the seam allowances so I could sew French Seams at the shoulders and sides, and reduced the seam allowance on the collar so that it was more of a feature, just my preference for the sew.
